As word of my artistic interest went round, I have had some rather interesting invitations to address different audiences. A recent one requiring much thought was at the 3rd Annual Women in Leadership Summit 2017 held in Singapore. It was part of the Leadership Journey Series of the 3-day programme, and was titled "Developing the Art of Law".

Never having regarded myself as a leader in the conventional sense, I recalled the time I presented a paper on Leadership for my MBA when I identified Kermit the Frog as being a leader, and a visionary one at that because he was able to dream and deliver. Remember the song "Rainbow Connection"? While the other muppets only saw the rainbow, Kermit always wondered what lay beyond it. While the others were flustered with situations, Kermit would quietly work at creative solutions. I had unwittingly followed Kermit's brand of leadership.

I shared how I had laid brick after brick of my career as a real estate lawyer and a banking one, alongside moving from associate to shareholder of my law firm. And then creating my own private client practise, brand and clients by always looking ahead and pre-empting trends and needs and dreaming. Elder law, Art law and Mediation are my latest offerrings.

If one enjoys what one does (ie. career, job, pastimes and hobbies) they will all connect at some point or the other into a single web of passions.

Art, Law and Charity are spun into a web through my love for writing and painting. All are presented at this Gallery.

I ended my talk with several take away points; the ones worthy of mention here are the importance of family and dreams and persevering with both, and then using lifelong learning as your tool.
